THE TROUBLE withTHE BLACK & BROWN LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY: Are We Election Ready?

Join us for THE TROUBLE WITH THE BLACK & BROWN LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY: Are We Election Ready?—an engaging online conversation that will explore the political landscape for Black and Brown LGBTQ+ communities as we approach critical upcoming elections. This open conversation, moderated by Phillip W. Miner, a seasoned community organizer with 35 years of experience, will dive deep into the challenges, opportunities, and resources available to ensure our communities are informed and empowered to vote.

We are excited to have Chisselle Soles, Black Organizer of Programs for Planned Parenthood of South, East Florida, and Jamil Davis, Florida State Organizer and Manager of Black Voters Matter, join the panel. Both are highly respected leaders who have worked tirelessly to advance the rights and participation of marginalized communities in the electoral process. Their insights will be invaluable as we discuss how to navigate the specific barriers facing Black and Brown LGBTQ+ voters.

This event is proudly presented by Unspoken Treasure Society and Trans Awareness Project. We are grateful for the support of our sponsors: For All, Jacksonville LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, Black Votes Matter, and Black Organizing Program for Planned Parenthood of South, East Florida. Together, we aim to create a space where participants can share their concerns, ask questions, and leave feeling prepared to engage in the upcoming elections.

Whether you are a seasoned voter or new to the process, this conversation will provide crucial information and a sense of solidarity. Let’s come together to discuss how we can ensure our voices are heard, our rights protected, and our votes counted.
