Unspoken Treasure Society (UTS) began in June 2018, inspired by the vision and determination of Ms. Regina Livingston, a courageous and pioneering Black woman. Ms. Livingston saw an urgent need in her community—a lack of meaningful support and resources for members of the LGBTQ+ community, especially for those who are people of color. What started as a dream to fill this gap has grown into a vibrant and impactful 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with active chapters in Gainesville, FL; Jacksonville, FL; and Atlanta, GA.

At its heart, UTS is about connection, understanding, and transformation. We believe that every member of the LGBTQ+ community deserves to feel supported, valued, and empowered. To achieve this, we take a holistic approach rooted in trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and restorative justice. These principles guide us as we respond to the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals with compassion and practical solutions.

Our work is about more than just services—it’s about creating a sense of belonging. We provide peer support that fosters genuine community, a place where individuals can share their experiences and feel understood. Our community outreach efforts help us engage with the public and build bridges of awareness and acceptance. We also equip people with knowledge through educational resources, empowering them to navigate their journeys with confidence. For those facing health concerns, we offer HIV-centered testing and counseling to ensure everyone has access to life-saving care. Beyond this, we connect individuals with essential resources, whether it’s housing assistance, job opportunities, or safety measures.

But UTS is more than a service provider—we’re a movement for equity and justice. We envision a world where members of the LGBTQ+ community have access to affordable and fair housing, opportunities for upward mobility, inclusive education on safer sex practices, and the freedom to live without fear of violence or harm.

At UTS, we understand the power of voice. Too often, individuals from marginalized LGBTQ+ communities are silenced or ignored. That’s why we’re committed to amplifying those voices, ensuring they are not only heard but truly understood. We believe that when every voice is respected, we all thrive.
